Kartagener Syndrome

Do you have Chronic Bronchitis and Chronic Sinusitis? If so, you may have the Kartagener Syndrome.

What is the Kartagener syndrome?

This syndrome also known as Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia is a rare inherited disease affecting the respiratory tract, which is made up of your nasal passages, the sinus cavities, parts of your ear including the Eustachian tubes, your larynx (throat) and your lungs.

Your respiratory tract is lined with cilia, which are tiny hair like structures that transport mucus. People with the Kartagener syndrome have cilia that are unable to move or that cannot move properly.

Half of the patients who suffer with this syndrome also have a condition known as Situs Inversus Viscerum. Situs Inversus occurs when your major internal organs are on the opposite side as compared to a normal person’s anatomical structure. For example; some people with the Kartagener syndrome have their hearts positioned in the right side of their chest as opposed to a normal positioned heart that can be found on the left hand side of a person’s body.

The symptoms of the Kartagener syndrome

Mainly symptoms result from cilia dysfunction and include:

  • Chronic/recurrent Sinusitis (sinus infections)
  • Chronic Rhinitis (runny nose)
  • Chronic/recurrent Bronchitis (inflamed bronchial tubes)
  • Pneumonia (lung infection)
  • Anosmia (loss of smell)
  • Bronchiectasis (damage to your lungs due to numerous infections)
  • Recurrent Otitis media (ear infections)
  • Infertility

What causes Kartagener syndrome?

This syndrome is caused by a ciliary defect that one is born with.

How common is this syndrome?

Kartagener syndrome occurs in, 1 in every 16000 babies that is born in the US.

Can patients with Kartagener syndrome live long?

Although there are many conditions such as Chronic Sinusitis, persistent ear infections, recurrent Rhinitis, Pneumonia, infertility and possible lung diseases that affect the quality of an individual’s life, people with Kartagener syndrome can live a normal lifespan.

How is this syndrome diagnosed and treated?

A doctor may diagnose you by doing a chest x-ray to determine if you have Situs Inversus. The doctor may also perform a biopsy where a sample of the lining in your throat is taken for testing. This sample will then allow the doctor to see if the cilia lining your respiratory tract are defective.
Treating Kartagener syndrome is aimed at treating the various infections of the respiratory tract and preventing further infection.

Here are a few treatments and preventions for Kartagener Syndrome:

  1. Treat Chronic Sinusitis symptoms by using the SinusWars8 remedy.
  2. Treat Rhinitis and many other sinus related conditions by using SinusWars14.
  3. SinusWars4 will treat ear infections and various sinus problems.
  4. SinusWars2 aims at stimulating cilia functioning and may help treat thick, blocked mucus.
  5. Do not smoke.
  6. Get ample rest.
  7. Drink lots of water.
  8. To treat Bronchiectasis, do not allow phlegm to build-up in your lungs. To prevent a build-up of mucus, lie on a bed and hang your head over the edge so that gravity can help drain the mucus out of the lungs.

Kartagener syndrome does not have to be a life long struggle. Treating the underlying causes of your problem can prevent the severity, duration and recurrence of infections.

SinusWars remedies are totally natural, effective and safe. They have no known side effects and they work on underlying causes of your condition to give you long term relief.
