How can I stress less?

We all face stressful moments in our life, but the difference is how we deal with stress symptoms. The way you respond to possible stressors will determine how long the stress symptoms will prevail in your life. If inappropriate or no measures are taken to deal with the effects of stress, you may experience symptoms for a longer period of time.
Here are possible ways to relieve stress

Remember, when you're suffering from stress or depression you are your own patient and the recovery is fully dependant on you and the measures you take to heal yourself. The following are several measures you may take to relieve your stress symptoms:
- Talk to someone about your feelings, preferably a psychologist or a pastor. Open up to them and express your anger, sorrow, and other emotions - even though it may be difficult.
- When symptoms are mild, try to go for a walk alone or with a supportive person to whom you can explain your situation. But don't expect anyone to take away your stress.
- Page through your photo album or view a celebration tape where you had fun with family or friends.
- Cook yourself a healthy meal. Don't eat less or miss meals. Don't forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
- Involve yourself in healthy activities that will promote your general health and boost your mental capacity. For instance, you may go to the gym or jog alone. Do not engage in any strenuous exercises.
- Avoid the consumption of alcohol or the use of any mind altering substance such as drugs, marijuana, cigarette etc. that will serve to worsen your condition.
- If you're an academic, get involved in a non-academic activity such as sports, debate, hobbies or any other fun activity that will help you relax.
- Change your daily habits. For a change, don't drive on the highway, shop at the different shopping center and wear your old clothes.
