Nasal Obstruction

| |
Many individuals with sinus problems complain of a blocked nose. This feeling of blockage can result in a sinus infection. A blockage may occur due to the swelling of the lining in the nose. It could also be due to a deformity of the bony structures that make up the framework of the nose.
The causes of nasal obstruction are commonly associated with rhinitis, which is the inflammation of the mucus membranes of the nose.
These are some of the causes of nasal obstruction:
- Rhinitis
- Foreign Bodies
- Deviated Nasal Septum
- Nasal Polyps
- Hematoma
Chronic Sinusitis

Chronic sinusitis causes poor airflow in the nose that result in nasal blockage. These blockages can block the openings (ostia) of the sinuses which usually lead to recurring infections and a nasal obstruction.
