Q. What happens when the body has an allergic reaction?

A. A person experiences an allergic reaction when he/she comes into contact with antigens. Antigens are minute particles which float around in the air, and may cause certain persons to develop an allergic reaction when they come into contact with the allergen.
When a person comes into contact with an allergen, their B cells (B cells are white blood cells, which help attack the antigens) produce antibodies. These antibodies bond to mast cells. When this bonding occurs, the mast cells will release histamine. This released histamine will then result in a person experiencing an allergic reaction in the area it was
