A. When one cry’s tears normally spill over the eyelids and down ones cheeks; some of these tears may however drain down the tea ducts which lead to the nasal cavities.

When this happens it creates a natural “nasal rinse” whereby the salty tears loosen any trapped or blocked mucus thereby promoting drainage and a runny nose.

When one applies eye drops, these may run down the tear ducts into the nose. From here any eye drop solution can drain from the sinus cavities down the back of the throat and in so doing allow you to taste the solution.
